Done Deals 🚨 Arsenal have agreed a £12million deal medical now 18 months contract with Gunners for Chelsea midfielder Jorginho✅

Arsenal are set to complete the signing of Jorginho from Chelsea after the two clubs agreed a fee for the midfielder to become Mikel Arteta's latest January arrival

Arsenal have agreed a £12million deal for Chelsea midfielder Jorginho.

The 31-year-old is on his way to London Colney for a medical as the Gunners close in on their third January signing. He is expected to sign a contract until 2024 with an option of a further year.

Jorginho is set to follow Leandro Trossard and Jakub Kiwior through the doors at the Emirates Stadium this month as Mikel Arteta bolsters his midfield department following injuries to Thomas Partey and Mohamed Elneny. Albert Sambi Lokonga's mixed form has also forced the Spaniard to move quickly, with a move for Moises Caicedo proving difficult.
Brighton have said that the Ecuadorian is not for sale at any price after Arsenal saw another bid in the region of £70million rejected. Now, the Gunners have moved on to an alternative in Jorginho, who has been a mainstay in the Chelsea side since his move from Napoli in 2018.

Chelsea were reluctant to sell the Italy international and demanded a substantial fee from the Gunners to secure the services of the player despite having six months left on his contract at Stamford Bridge. According to reports, the two parties have agreed a deal and Jorginho has also accepted personal terms for a permanent transfer.

This is set to take Arsenal's winter spending to over £50m after Trossard joined for £27m from Brighton and Kiwior arrived in a deal worth around £20m from Spezia. Jorginho adds creative and technical flair to the Arsenal midfield and gives them a different dimension alongside Granit Xhaka, Fabio Viera and Partey.
