4: McGinn has a shot at goal for Villa from inside the box blocked well by Evans. Man Utd always looked comfortable.
Man Utd 0-0 Aston Villa
Sky Sports' Adam Bate at Old Trafford:
"Garnacho is on the right, maybe not his best position. Will be interesting to see if he can test Digne and put some crosses in. That is what Hojlund needs."

3: Villa's press is already making Man Utd look uncomfortable at the back when building up.
That will be a key area for the visitors to exploit.

Sky Sports' Adam Bate at Old Trafford:
"First offside of the night against United. It's Villa's speciality, expect a few of them."

Man Utd 0-0 Aston Villa
1: Man Utd make an energetic start but an offside stops their first attack in its tracks.
Interesting that Rashford is back on the left with Garnacho on the right. So often Ten Hag has gone the other way this season.

Dalot: Important for Hojlund to score
Rasmus Hojlund has gone 14 Premier League games without a goal since signing for Man Utd in a £72m transfer.
Diogo Dalot is convinced his break is coming. Speaking to Amazon Prime, the United defender said: "It is important for Hojlund to score because forwards breathe and live for scoring goals from assisting.
"We know when they don't, that confidence can drop a little, but we have been telling him that goals will come. I am sure of it."

Shaw: Latest loss just not good enough
Luke Shaw surveyed the wreckage of Manchester United’s latest defeat and admitted: “It’s just not good enough.”
The Red Devils went down 2-0 at West Ham to slip to their 13th loss from 26 matches this season.
They have now gone four matches in a row without scoring for the first time since 1992 after another limp display.
“It’s just not good enough really, we have to win games and that’s it,” full-back Shaw told TNT Sports.
“We keep losing games, losing points and we’re making it very hard for ourselves – especially that second half, it’s not good enough.
“In the first half, we controlled the game, I think we had chances again. If we score the first goal, maybe the result is different, but we don’t, so we suffered in that second half and, again, it’s not good enough.”

Ratcliffe: It will take time and patience to bring success to Man Utd
Sir Jim Ratcliffe has warned it will take "time and patience" to bring sporting success back to Manchester United.
Ratcliffe has purchased a 25 per cent stake in the Premier League club for £1.03bn, which gives his INEOS company control of football operations.
In an open letter to fans, Ratcliffe wrote: "I wanted to write to you at this time given the critical role of the fans to the future of Manchester United as we recognise our responsibility as custodians of the Club on your behalf.
"I believe we can bring sporting success on the pitch to complement the undoubted commercial success that the club has enjoyed. It will require time and patience, alongside rigour and the highest level of professional management.
"You are ambitious for Manchester United and so are we. There are no guarantees in sport, and change can inevitably take time but we are in it for the long term and together we want to help take Manchester United back to where the club belongs, at the very top of English, European and World Football. I take that responsibility very seriously."
Ratcliffe's deal is still yet to be ratified by the Premier League - a process which takes between six and eight weeks.
He added: "Please note that, as with any deal, it is subject to the usual regulatory sign-off process and therefore we do not expect to speak publicly about club matters until after the deal has completed."

Will Man Utd miss McTominay?
Manchester United have scored just 10 goals at home in the Premier League this season, their joint-fewest after nine games in the competition (also 10 in 2015-16).
Forty per cent of these have been scored by Scott McTominay (4), with the Scot the only player to score more than once for the Red Devils at home so far in the league. He is benched today.

Villa to punish United on the break?
Sky Sports' Adam Bate at Old Trafford:
"Having been at Villa Park for that disappointing draw against Sheffield United, one wonders whether this will suit Unai Emery's team a little better. They had almost all the possession against the Blades but it meant opportunities to counter-attack were limited.
"United have been vulnerable on the transition all season and with young Kobbie Mainoo not exactly surrounded by defensively-minded midfielders, it could be an avenue for Villa this evening. They have the pace to trouble the ageing centre-backs if the protection isn't there.
"The inclusion of Leander Dendoncker feels sensible by Emery. He has not exactly thrilled the Villa support but in the absence of the suspended Boubacar Kamara, his presence does free up John McGinn to pick the ball up between the lines, where he has been so good this season."

Carlos, Dendoncker start as Villa change two
Aston Villa have made two changes from the draw to Sheffield United.
Diego Carlos returns to the defence in place of Matty Cash, with Ezri Konsa expected to move out to right back.
Leander Dendoncker also starts in midfield ahead of Moussa Diaby, which could see captain John McGinn play in a more advanced role this evening.

More creativity in United team?
Sky Sports' Adam Bate at Old Trafford:
"The presence of Christian Eriksen and Bruno Fernandes in midfield offers encouragement that United can create chances this evening, much needed after four games without a goal.
"Scott McTominay, the only player to actually score a goal for the club in December, drops to the bench. Someone surely has to step up. Eyes on Rasmus Hojlund and Marcus Rashford tonight."
Raphael Varane is over the illness that kept him out of the last game and replaces teenager Willy Kambwala in defence.
Luke Shaw is missing from the squad, replaced by Diogo Dalot at left back.
